Refugees

Refugees are a matter very close to my heart. For some time I volunteered with Refugee Legal, helping asylum seekers with their visa applications. I heard first hand the horrors that these people had to endure. 
We need to treat these people with compassion, kindness and dignity. Our immigration system needs to be far more efficient, fair and humane.

* Permanent protection for refugees stuck on temporary visas
* Freedom from detention and a real solution for resettlement
* A universal safety net for all refugees and people seeking asylum in Australia
* A generous refugee program for those fleeing violence and war
