Our community is suffering from lack of essential mental health services.

Currently, our community is facing: 

• ZERO acute mental health beds in the Monash electorate.
• ZERO step up-step down facilities in the Monash electorate.
• ZERO Headspace facilities for youth mental health in large towns like Warragul, Drouin, Leongatha, Korumburra & Moe. 
• Lengthy wait times for many mental health services. 

We are being ignored when it comes to mental health care. Residents in the Monash electorate face unacceptable wait times for mental health support, with many forced to travel long distances for basic services or going without help entirely, sometimes leading to fatal outcomes. 

Monash deserves better mental health support.

Improving mental health services will:

• Save lives. 
• Provide  access to professional support when and where people need it most
• Keep families together by treating people close to home
• Reduce pressure on emergency services and hospitals
• Create stronger, healthier, happier and more productive communities
