While our cars have to be roadworthy, our roads are not car worthy! I will advocate for funding to fix our roads and make them safe for our community.
As a strong, independent voice, I will advocate for our fair share of funding to fix our roads and improve public transport. I’ll stop our safety being neglected just because we are a safe seat.
Safer, better roads for everyone
The poor condition of our roads isn't just dangerous—it's costing our community money through damaged vehicles, delayed deliveries, and increased travel times. I will fight for:
- Funding for proper long-term repair and maintenance of our roads and potholes, not short-term fixes
- Improved road safety measures across the electorate
- Greater federal funding for regional roads, ensuring Monash gets its fair share, including working with Councils to maximise Roads to Recovery program funding
- Funding for a bypass around Leongatha's "Kamikaze Corner"
- Funding for a Drouin South bypass to ease congestion in Drouin main street
- Solutions to other trouble spots identified by the community.
Better public transport
Our communities deserve reliable, accessible public transport. I will:
- advocate at a state level for improved public transport across Monash, including:
- more regular train and bus services
- additional bus routes to better connect our towns
- availability of Myki or other electronic payment options on all public transport
- support shared community-led transport services such as the volunteer-managed buses in Sandy Point and Venus Bay.
Forward-looking transport solutions
I'm committed to making our transport systems work better for everyone while preparing for the future. I will support for electric vehicle uptake and widespread charging infrastructure across Monash
